BVI on the AMLA-decision
On 22. February 2024, the European Parliament and the member states voted jointly to designate Frankfurt as the location for the new European Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA).
Thomas Richter, CEO of the German Investment Funds Association BVI, comments:
‘The EU made the right choice with Frankfurt because EU authorities complement each other here in a meaningful way, enabling close dialogue between all parties involved and cost savings. Frankfurt is thus expanding its strength as financial centre in Europe. The German government contributed to this result with its efforts in Brussels.‘
